About

Hi, I’m Kamal. I’m the one-person team behind ClipMind.

I build ClipMind on my own, for people who copy more than they can remember. I design it, write it and answer the support email.

Why I built it

I kept losing things I’d already copied

Every clipboard manager I tried searched for the words I typed. But I don’t remember words. I remember what it was: the error from the webhook, the screenshot of their pricing page, the SQL query for the invoices table.

Screenshots were worse. There’s no word to search for in a picture, so I scrolled back through thumbnails until I spotted it.

So I started building a clipboard manager you search by describing what you copied. That became ClipMind.

Solo, end to end

I design the screens, write the Swift, ship the updates and answer every support email myself.

Built around client work

I build ClipMind between freelance projects. Limited hours keep the app small and focused.

No investors, no targets

Nobody needs ClipMind to grow fast. A feature goes in when it helps you find a clip, and not before.

Why on-device

The hard part was trust

A clipboard sees everything: passwords, API keys, private messages, client data. I wasn’t going to send that to a server, and I wouldn’t use an app that did.

So ClipMind does all of it on your Mac. A small embedding model, EmbeddingGemma 2, runs locally through llama.cpp and Metal. Text, code and images land in the same search, and plain keyword search runs alongside it, so exact matches never get worse.

No account, no cloud, no telemetry. Password managers are excluded from the start.

Three promises

What you can hold me to

  1. 01

    Pay once

ClipMind is a one-time purchase that includes every 1.x update. I won’t turn it into a subscription.

  2. 02

    Your clips stay yours

Everything you copy stays on your Mac. I have no server to send it to and no way to see it.

  3. 03

    You’ll hear from me

Every email goes to my inbox. The person who replies is the person who wrote the code.
